Strawberry Margarita
Sweet, tangy, and made with love, this isn’t your average margarita. Crafted with homemade strawberry purée, it’s bursting with fresh, sun-ripened flavour and a hint of citrus zing. Smooth tequila, a splash of lime, and that perfect balance of sweet and sour make every sip taste like summer. We created this cocktail for Valentine's Day, but we love to enjoy it all year round, as a spin on a classic marg.
8-10 fresh strawberries
1/3 cup of sugar
60ml tequila
15ml of cointreau
60ml Lime Juice
Seed + Stow Dried Lime Slices
1. Pre make the strawberry puree by combining chopped up strawberries with the sugar and 3 tablespoons of water. Make sure you leave aside a few strawberries for garnishing later.
2. Let this simmer on the stove until the strawberries start to break down, the sugar has dissolved and the water has begun to evaporate making the mixture a little bit sticky.
3. Transfer to a blender to remove any last lumps, then set aside in the fridge to cool.
4. Next prepare your love heart strawberry garnishes by thinly slicing strawberries and trimming the top edges to create a love heart shape.
5. Now to the cocktail making, add tequila, cointreau, lime juice and 60ml of the Strawberry Puree that was made before over ice in a cocktail shaker.
6. Shake well to emulsify all of the ingredients together and strain into a glass over ice. I have used a whiskey sphere and then added more ice to help support my strawberry love heart slices.
7. Add your strawberry love heart slices, using a knife to position them on the inside walls of the glass.
8. Finally, garnish with a Seed + Stow Dried Lime Slice and a few additional strawberry love hearts.
